TATTOO CONVENTION, PRAGUE, CZECH REPUBLIC

MAY, 2009

The Dancing Dragon was invited to attend the 2009 Tattoo Convention in Prague, Czech Republic.. This is one of our favorite shows to attend on the European tattoo circuit, and, as always, a great show..

We kept busy working throughout the show, and James was invited to judge during the tattoo competition, and to hand out trophies on Saturday and Sunday... Most of the artists were from the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovak Republic, Italy, Russia, and the Dragon was one of two studios attending from the United States..

It's a unique opportunity for us tattooists from the States to see how tattoo styles have evolved in Europe.. They have definitely taken tattooing in a whole different direction.. They're not into the typical "Old School" or "Oriental" type work in those parts.. And just when you think you've gotten to that point where you think your skill level is up to par, you see some badass work from some little known tattooist with mad skills and it blows you away.. But it's just that type of humbling experience that motivates you to do better, and never be complacent with your work..

One shop from Prague deserves recognition for their outstanding work; Bloody Blue Tattoo.. Check out their website at: www.bloodybluetattoo.cz

We know some Americans who live in Prague, and Steve and Becky were helpful in assisting us with translating, explaining local customs, who's got the best food and beer, etc.. You know, the important stuff..

Thanks for all of your help guys.. See you next year!

This is from the Full Moon Tattoo & Horror Festival.. Congratulations to our customers and the Dancing Dragon team who took 6 trophies at the show.. Chad Robson's work took 3 trophies, Best Oriental - 1st place; Best Back, 2nd Place; and Best Overall - 1st place.. Chris Pavelchik's work took 2 trophies; Best Male Sleeve - 2nd place; and Best Overall - 3rd place... James Phillips' work took 1 trophy; Best Female Sleeve - 3rd place.. Again.. Good job guys and thanks to all who came out to support the Dragon!
